Not everyone who wants to teach cadets has to enroll in the Canadian Forces. Civilian instructors complement the knowledge and skill set of the Cadet Instructors Cadre. Adults that desire to get involve can:
- Join the League or the Sponsoring Committee. They work closely with the corps/squadron staff to help support Cadets.
Become a civilian instructor. Let the Commanding Officer know if you have special skills. People with experience in first aid, rock-climbing, sailing or flying are not always easy to find.
Civilian instructors are required to undergo much the same screening as Cadet Instructors Cadre Officers.
For adults that wish to enrol you can become a Cadet Instructors Cadre (CIC) officer. CIC officers are responsible for the training, administration and operations of corps/squadrons. » Learn more.
Because you will be working with youth, you will be required to undergo screening prior to becoming involved.
